I was raised by my grandmother, Lillie Mae Jenkins, who was born in Butler, Alabama.  She had a very special way of bringing families together each holiday and every Sunday.   Her passion for traditional soul food, along with her special touch, was bestowed upon my mother, Helen Alexander, who showed me everything I know about comforting the soul through delicious foods.
